“The Odyssey Project helped me unwrap my gifts and rewrite the story of my life.”
– UW Odyssey Project student
The UW Odyssey Project
empowers low-income adults to find their voices and get a jumpstart at earning college degrees they never thought possible. The program provides 30 students each year with a challenging college humanities class, earning six UW credits in English. Students receive free tuition, textbooks, childcare, and a weekly dinner through support from the university, grants, and private donations.
Graduates of the Odyssey Project have moved from homelessness to master’s degrees, from incarceration to meaningful work in the community. Whole families report life-changing effects from this award-winning program designed to break a cycle of generational poverty.
