Postsecondary Opportunity Programs

“Postsecondary opportunity program” is a general term that WISCAPE uses to refer to state, county, municipal, institutional, and private programs and partnerships that aim to increase educational attainment and community development by confronting the barriers to postsecondary access, persistence, and success. These programs provide full or partial tuition assistance, academic preparation, guaranteed enrollment, or a combination thereof (among other benefits) to students who fulfill certain eligibility requirements. These programs exist under many names, including promise programs, compacts, covenants, and commitments.
