Associations, Networks, and Alliances: Making Sense of the Emerging Global Higher Education Landscape
12:00 PM -  1:00 PM
Harrison Parlor, Lathrop Hall, 1050 University Avenue

Evidence suggests that the higher education and research landscapes are becoming filled with layer upon layer of organizational structures representing increasingly global agendas. These include associations of higher education institutions at national, regional, and international levels; global university networks; narrowly focused or specialized groups; international alliances; professional associations; learned societies; and many other groupings.

The UNESCO-based International Association of Universities (IAU) seeks to enhance understandings of this new higher education landscape and delineate options for more effective future collaboration between stakeholders through its upcoming 3rd Global Meeting of Associations of Universities (GMAIII) in Guadalajara, Mexico. Kris Olds will present the discussion paper and keynote address he has prepared for this conference.
